Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
Psalms 51:1-2 NIV
Our Father has, and desires to show us, MERCY.
Despite both our willful, and ignorant, acts, mistakes, sins, etcetera, God wants to be merciful to us.
His love is so extreme and deep that he wants to, and will, show us unexpected, undeserved, Mercy. Mercy for all debts, sins, wrongs, and mistakes.
In this mercy that He gives, it is not just a decision to not punish. It's not just God not allowing what our choices have deserved.
His mercy and His love create. Gods words, whatever He speaks, which includes His mercy, is creative. Its living, alive, and active. When God gives us, speaks to us, "Mercy", the work of mercy gives us life. God's Mercy creates.
It makes things move, shift and change. His mercy carries within it the power, the life, the strength, energy, and ability, to no longer make the same wrong choices and mistakes. He, His mercy, erases and cancels the deserved outcome.
Driving drunk can incurr large penalties. Either jail time, large fines, suspensions. And It can create damage, injury, and death.
Much like our individual choices and actions in life. Every action has a reaction. But God's mercy, when we ask for it, and accept it in humility, cancels the judgement.
His mercy cancels the normal, logical, natural reaction of what would have to occur. His mercy cancels, or ends, the deserved punishment early.
His mercy also blots out. It erases, and cancels, the wrong, hurtful, unwise, acts or choices that we have committed.
The action, or choice, of what we did that was written, recorded, documented and held up in court as evidence. Evidence of our bad choice. And evidence of proof that we need to be punished, fined, etc.
God's mercy removes the penalty. Or maybe ends the penalty. His mercy can end our penalties sooner than we deserved it to be ended.
His mercy blots out the documented evidence and says, "I'm going to act like this didn't occur. Because you have learned, and you will be, and you are now, "changed".
After blotting out the documented act of our wrong, and ending the natural reaction, or penalty, of our choices, then he washes us.
Like in performing medical first-aid, He washes our wounds. The many wounds we most likely caused ourselves. The wounds that, possibly, led us to making even more bad choices and actions.
His mercy then washes us. He washes the wound, our mind, our entire being. His mercy washes us from the guilt and shame that haunts us. From the pain that's in the memory of what has happened. The mentally tormenting reminders of what we have done. Or what has been done to us.
His mercy washes us. So we can feel clean, smell clean, be clean. So we can be seen and viewed by Him, and others, as clean.
He washes us so that when He, like a doctor, gives us a shot, or before He makes an incision, it will be done without further infection or damage. We are washed so that we can be worked on and healed internally as well.
His mercy cleanses us. His mercy has forgiven us. His mercy has blotted out our shameful actions and choices. His mercy has removed, or ended early, the amount of time we should have had to serve in jail, as part of our natural, deserved, punishment. His mercy has washed us from the smell, dirt, and germs, that had accumulated on us.
His mercy then, enters us. Like a shot, an injection, or a surgeon's incision, His mercy enters us. Our blood, and our internal being, is injected with His mercy.
This mercy changes us. It cleanses us from the inside. His mercy cleanses us from the lies, fears, and deceptions that led us to continually doing the actions, and making the choices, that harmed us. And that harmed others.
His mercy enters and removes the tumors, and cancer. His mercy goes in and cuts out the unseen lies. The traumas and hurts of our past. The cancer cells that were inside us. Undetected for so long.
His mercy removes the thing(s) that were and are the issue behind our problems.
Someone with cancer, before they know they have it, often, when it's progressed, have symptoms.
They begin to think, "What's wrong with me? Why do I keep doing that? Why does my body keep doing this? Why do I feel pain? Why am I passing out? Why does it hurt to walk, or to breathe?
God, His mercy, knows what's inside of us. He knows the fears, the lies, the cancers. He knows what traumas, pain, and torment has occurred inside of us.
God, His mercy, knows what things inside of us have grown into large tumors, and lesions of cancer. His mercy knows that these cancers, these internal issues are what keep making you "do what you don't want to do".
So, His Mercy, it cleanses us. It goes inside and removes the causes behind our negative actions and choices. His mercy cleanses us from the things inside of us. The things that have incited us to constantly do the things we know we shouldn't do. The things that maybe we didn't even really want to do.
His mercy removes the real cause. The cause that was behind the negative, hurtful, actions and choices we made, and make. The actions and choices that we now need him to forgive and blot out.
"Sin" is a sickness. "Sins" are the symptoms. He knows why you do, and have done, all that you do.
It's when we choose to humble ourselves, and ask God for help, that He can respond to our invitation. To our plea. "He, God, draws near to the humble".
Stop trying to force your symptoms to look, or feel different. Instead, cry out. Humble yourself and go to God. Tell Him, "I must be sick. Sicker than I know. I can't change myself. Not fully, not the complete way that I need to be changed. God, give me your Mercy."
Ask for his mercy. Then allow, and expect, for God's mercy to blot out, cross out, what negative, bad, unwise things you have done.
Let, and expect, God’s mercy to wash away, to soon end, any more jail time, imprisonment, or penalty, for the things you have done.
Let and expect God's mercy to wash you. On the outside. It takes time to wash. Especially from harsh and heavy mud, debris, dirty oils, or chemicals. But He washes us thoroughly.
Then let, and expect, God's mercy to start going inside and cutting out, removing, cleansing you, of the cancer and tumors. The traumas, torments, and past hurts.
Let Him cleanse you, internally, from fears. Fears of all sorts. From lies, and deceptions. Let His mercy cut out, and destroy, the things that have been destroying you.
God is merciful. God delights in mercy. God chooses mercy, and desires mercy over harsh penalty based judgement.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
