Relax. God's got you.

As I am facing several difficult situations, with several unknown outcomes, I have struggled between worry and peace. In these struggles I know that ultimatley I have a choice. No matter what the details are of any situation I can choose to either relax, or to worry. Here is something I read today that stirred my thoughts.

“Relax, God’s got you. God has established a time and season for everything: 'To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.'

Choose to hold your peace and wait for His season. His timing is perfect. His season is perfect. Choose His peace over your process. His peace will navigate your course. His peace will direct your heart. His peace will direct your path. His peace will keep you. His peace will give you life.

There is “A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” Pray and actively choose to rest in His peace. Let God fight your battle. Let God go before you. When it’s time to war, God will teach you how to war.‬‬ When it’s time to war He’ll give you the strength and fortitude to fight. When it’s time to fight, God will give you the wisdom and insight to conquer the enemy. When it’s time to relax, choose to hold on to your peace and trust God — this battle belongs to Him.”

After reading that, I began thinking about the specific times, seasons and battles that I am in. It reminded me of a story about Elisha.

During a certain time in history, God had been giving a man named, Elisha the ability to know when the king of Syria was going to try and attack Israel. Elisha would warn the king of Israel, which prevented the attacks. This occurred multiple times and it infuriated the king of Syria. The king of Syria found out about Elisha and wanted to stop these interruptions on his planned attacks. So he sent a large army to capture Elisha. [2 Kings 6:8-20]

What was interesting at this point of the story is that God did not warn Elisha that the king of Syria was now going to attack him. He had warned Elisha multiple times about the planned attacks against Israel, but did not warn Elisha when the king was going to attack him.

If I had been Elisha this is where I would have wondered why God would do that. Why would you set me up for success multiple times, then let me blindly get attacked.

Elisha must have had a better grasp on understanding that He could trust God, even though it looked like a horrible situation. Elisha must have understood that there was a time and a season for all things. A time when God warned Him beforehand about things, and a time and a season when God would allow him to face and experience something challenging.

God knows what He is doing. There is a purpose for everything God does. And also for everything that He doesn't do. If God doesn't warn us about something then it's for the best. If God didn't let us know, then we didn't need to know.

What we can be sure of is that He has all things under His control. There are times we know things and can plan, and times we won't know things and seemingly get caught off guard. In each situation there is a purpose and a plan. There is a time and a purpose for all things.

In whatever time, season or situation you find yourself in, trust God. God will direct you in what to do and how to respond. Knowing what those things are starts with staying in peace.

Relax. Do not worry, God's got you. Whatever you are facing, He knows. Whatever caught you off guard, He knew. And He has a plan. When it’s time for battle, time to face a decision or issue, then at that time God will give you all that you need.

There is a time, season and purpose for everything. Don't be anxious. Relax. God is in control. When you are at peace you will hear and see His plan for your next move.
