Remain Calm

Someone we know has Covid. Someone else we know lost their job, and another person lost the life of someone they loved. Life's battles sometimes come at us with fierceness, and are completely unexpected. We may face battles that create financial struggle, emotional turmoil or physical challenges.

All of the various battles we face share a common and unseen enemy. Fear. Fears of the unknown and fears of the uncertain future. How do we answer or respond to these fears and uncertainties?

For our battles, especially the ones that seem to frighten us the most, there is a promise. The promise is, “The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.”

Exodus 14:14 AMP

A life without battles or difficulties does not exist. Yet we are promised that God will fight for us. Our job is simple, though not always easy. Remain still and be calm. Which could also be phrased as, have faith and don’t give into fear.

Some seasons of life have more battles than others. Whether our current season of life is outweighed by difficulties, or by blessings, we have a choice. The choice of what we will believe and how we will respond.

It’s written, “Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.” Deuteronomy 30:15

The choice isn’t whether or not you will face the battle. The choice is in how you will respond to the battle. How will we respond to the various fears? Your response will determine your future. A future that is positive or one that is negative.

Your battle is going to end. Your trial will end. It won’t last forever. When your battle ends will there be life and goodness within your heart, mind and emotions? Or will there be death and negativity?

Don’t let the fear of your battle overcome you. Choose to face your battle, and its fears, with Faith. Faith in God. Faith that He will fight for you. Faith that He can and will take care of all the unknowns.

When battles and fear arrive we must face them. We can’t escape the realities of them. But we do choose how we will face it.

You can face your battle, and journey through it, while being overcome by fear. Or you can face your battle and be overcome with faith. One choice will lead to devastation, negativity and death in your mind, soul and emotions. The other choice will lead to prosperity, positivity and life in your mind, soul and emotions.

We often don’t know why God allowed a battle or one of life’s trials to challenge us. But we can choose to believe that He will fight for us. We can choose to trust Him.

In the face of your battle and fear, make a choice. Choose whether your mind and emotions will be devastated or if they will prosper. Don’t let the fear choose for you. You have a choice. Choose faith, choose trust, choose peace. It will bring life. Leading you into prosperity and goodness.
