Remain in His Love (Presence)

Updated: Jun 12, 2022

Remain in His Love

"I have loved you, [just] as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love [continue in His love with Me]."

If I am walking, sitting in, or enjoying the presence of my lover, I am abiding in, continuing in, and allowing my consciousness to be present within that love and that experience. But if I allow myself to become distracted from them, and allow my consciousness and attention to be pulled away from that conscious moment - especially by fear, anxiety, worry, sadness, or anger - then, (for however long I come out of that conscious experience of their love and presence, and remain more conscious and aware of the fear, concern, worry, etc.), for that amount of time, I am not abiding or remaining in their love. This is why Jesus says "if you keep my commandments" you will be able to remain in His love.

The commandments Jesus was teaching were centered around forgiving everyone, loving enemies, not worrying, seeing hardship and problems as blessings (aka, the beatitudes). If we follow those types of instructions, our consciousness and awareness of Him - His presence, His love - will become more constant because we are not allowing fears, worries, problems, anxiety, sadness, etc., to keep us focused anywhere else, other than in Him and His love.]

"If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love…"

...This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you. No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.

John 15:9‭-‬10‭, ‬12‭-‬13 AMPC

[When any offence, problem, irritation, worry, anxiety, etc., arises it should be our main priority to trust Him with it; To not allow it to consume our thoughts or emotions. The goal is to practice remaining in His love. It is always there, it is always extremely real, alive, and full of joy, hope, and peace. However, it is our choice to remain there. Even during "problems", trials, losses, offences, etc., can we - will we - choose to follow his commands - (don't worry, don't fear, trust God, forgive, be a servant, be humble)? This is the choice that we make, multiple times - daily. Will we remain in His love as the branch remains in the vine?]
