The Dream-Creating Process
When we find ourselves holding onto disappointments and anxieties, it's often because our mind is seeing and experiencing circumstances that appear to be out of alignment with the dreams and desires of our hearts. When this occurs, the mind gets frightened, thinking that Spirit has somehow lost control of the dream-making process. When our mind falls into the fallacy of this belief, it begins frantically searching for ways to take charge; to control and redirect the dream-making process toward a path it can understand. However, when the mind does this, it is actually resisting the path that Spirit has allowed and is using.
The Spirit is the one creating, as long as our mind doesn't resist it. When the mind gets frightened it tries to help, but what it's really doing is not trusting Spirit, which causes Spirit to cease its activity temporarily; because Spirit only leads the way when our minds allow it to. Mind has free will, and the Spirit always honors that free will. The free will (choice) to trust Spirit, or not.
In certain circumstances, the mind can't comprehend how those experiences could possibly be part of the dream-making path. This causes the mind to think that Spirit is no longer in control. The important thing to remember is that the Spirit never loses control, but only seemingly gives it up whenever the mind wants it back.
Specific portions of the dream-making path (usually the "scary" ones) are actually for the purpose of revealing lower belief systems that exist within us. These lower belief systems need to be removed (transformed) before we can receive our dream. Spirit knows that if the lower belief systems aren't first recognized, and changed to higher beliefs, then they may cause us to lose (aka, sabotage) our dreams in the future.
The important concept to grasp here is that the Mind and Spirit are co-creators. They can dream together, imagine together, etc. However, Spirit is the one that begins opening doors, encounters, experiences, etc., that lead to the creation and development of the dream(s) and desires. Mind is supposed to find the message (purpose, meaning) in each step of the journey - interpreting all things through the renewed mindset of love, faith, hope, and peace. When our mind falls into a lower mindset the spirit can't continue creating the higher dream(s) because it has committed itself to co-creating with our minds. This is why it's important to do our best to remain in trust, acceptance, contentment, forgiveness, peace, and love.
Get back into a heavenly mindset, and your spirit will gladly continue creating the path to your heavenly dreams. Trust that whatever Spirit allows in your path is for your good. Humbly look for and accept the lesson (aka, blessing) and then you will find yourself moving graciously closer to your dreams and desires; no longer with stress and tension, but with ease and grace.
