A God of understanding.
There are many aspects to "understanding". In life experiences we find ourselves trying to understand why people did certain things. We often don't understand why we ourselves continue to make certain choices. We experience the quest for understanding in schools and education. As we learn we begin to understand the history of things, their origins, developments and concepts.
To not understand something can often leave us frustrated, shocked, in awe and bewildered. When we don't understand the choices and actions of others we find ourselves offended, upset and in turmoil. Yet, when we can choose to be understanding we find it easier to forgive, to let go, and to be at peace.
When we don't understand our own actions, choices and internal struggles we find ourselves frustrated with ourselves. This lack of understanding of ourselves often leads to guilt, shame, depression and hopelessness. When we begin to see the deeper reasons of why we do certain things it helps to remove these debilitating issues.
Understanding helps us to forgive, love and accept ourselves. While also giving us hope that we can change. To understand something, or someone, it requires aspects of love and humility. To understand a choice or an action performed, by you or someone else, it requires "1 Corinthians 13 - Love"...Patience, Kindness, Gentleness and Believing the best.
Choosing to be understanding of the behaviors and choices of ourselves and others is an act of love. It is wisdom. Wisdom chooses love in all circumstances. And to be loving is to be understanding. Therefore wisdom chooses, out of love, to patiently, kindly, gently, and humbly seek to understand the reasoning and cause behind all things.
Let's seek to be wise, just as our Father is wise. Let's seek to be loving, just as our Father is loving. Let's also seek to be understanding, just as our Father is understanding. Let's be understanding of both ourselves and others in our mistakes and failures. Wisdom chooses Love, and love chooses to understand and believe the best.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
