Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm. Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in Christ. And as Christ himself is seen for who he really is, who you really are will also be revealed, for you are now one with him in his glory! Live as one who has died to every form of sexual sin and impurity. Live as one who has died to the desires for forbidden things, including the desire for wealth, which is the essence of idol worship.
Colossians 3:2-5 TPT
"Live as one who has died to the desires for forbidden things, including the desire for wealth, which is the essence of idol worship."
Pursuing wealth & power, or even pursuing"spiritual" things, for wealth & power [selfish gain], is like idol worship. It is Luciferianism. Jesus was tempted in the desert, "bow & I will give you all these kingdoms" (Matt.4:8,9). King David also had tempting opportunities to pursue the throne [wealth & power] in an unrighteous way, when he could have killed Saul (1 Sam 24).
*Unrighteous means, not in faith. Righteous means faith.
There are subtle fears within us that tempt us to grab for things too soon. (An intimate relationship, a job, a title, etc.) These subtle fears must be recognized and discerned. The temptation is to grab something, which may be promised to you, but to grab it out of fear instead of faith. Fear says, "grab it now, hurry, or you may lose it. This may be your only opportunity". Faith says, "God will justify. God will prove what's mine. I will not fear, I will not demand what's mine. God will defend my cause and prove what He wants me to have. I will wait on God".
Had Jesus bowed in order to receive the kingdoms of the world, which He knew were promised to him, then he would have gained the kingdoms through unrighteousness - not in faith. Had David killed Saul in order to gain the kingdom, wealth, & power, which were promised to him, he would have gained it through unrighteousness. If the kingdom, wealth & power are gained through unrighteous means, then that ruler and kingdom now become unrighteous. And unrighteousness, which is pride & lack of faith, cannot be blessed. God resists the proud (James 4:6), and without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb.11:6).
The righteous will not pursue wealth & power, even when they know it is their promised destiny. Pride pursues wealth & power. Humility, faith, & selfless love, wait for God to grant it to you.
Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves, [selfishness]. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities, [selflessness-Love for God and others]. For the sense and reason of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.
