God is
What is Christ?
An attorney for defense.
The Father is the Judge.
Toward Mercy He's bent.
Christ is a protector.
An Officer of peace.
He upholds "The Law of Spirit".
Sees the best in the least.
God is Love and kindness.
Love we have yet to perceive.
His kindness is beyond
the kindness of you and me.
God is peace that doesn't fight back.
In His peace, He is strength.
A strength greater than the strong.
This strength He gives to the weak.
His Love and His kindness
give us life, make us whole.
A love and a kindness
That gives life to the poor.
If it erased His existence
He'd give it fully still.
But because it is love,
to end it never will.
So He rises, again,
and again, and again.
Because love gives life fully,
And when it ends it begins.
God is beyond
what we see, what we speak,
what we hear, or imagine;
Though we try, it's a feat.
His name. What name?
He's beyond that. It's clear.
Yet He humbly identified with
a man from down here.
Abraham. God's friend.
A human, like us.
He chose to hear God.
To follow, to trust.
This God, beyond time,
Beyond sound, beyond light,
He is here, He is with us,
Never leaves, that's right.
How can we explain Him,
For centuries we've tried.
But with songs, and with stories,
Our attempts seem like lies.
Defender of accused,
Forgiver of the wrong.
A love like that,
It's more than strong.
To humans we compare Him,
But that's not even fair,
Can we compare this earth
To a fruit, or a pear?
This source of existence,
The One God, My King,
Is beyond knowing fully.
Beyond imagining.
I try, yet my mind's blown
at attempts to perceive.
Barely scratching the surface,
He's the ocean, not a cup of tea.
What can you fathom?
If you can, is it real?
If the created can explain Him,
Is He Creator, still?
There's much we can know.
To be searched for, and found.
Yes He wants us to know Him,
But He's infinite, we're bound.
We are limited in this life.
Our bodies, our brains,
But someday we'll see Him,
Knowing Him, and His name.
A name, beyond speaking,
Beyond sound, beyond words,
A name, that resonates,
Like the whole Universe.
